The Terrible Outfit Day

I would of never thought that a 3 year could be so picky and decisive on what she wants to wear each day. Getting Maggie dressed for the day sometimes can be quite the challenge of the day. She would much rather run around in her pajamas all day as far as she is concerned. So today when attempting to get her dressed we picked out two shirts, one she got from her cousin for Christmas (mom thinking that will get her excited) the other a brand new shirt I just bought for her this week! Well when I asked what shirt she would like to wear, her response was neither "I don't like those" ok. She opens her dresser doesn't find anything in it she likes either and than proceeds to put back on her pajamas. So after giving her another chance to pick or else mommy picks she still couldn't decide. So I put on the brand new shirt, pants and socks. All the while her screaming at me that she doesn't like her shirt. So I ask myself how can a 3 year possible not like something in her favorite color that is brand new, never been worn? Still asking myself this question and most likely will for quite some time. I leave the room with her kicking and screaming on the floor and throwing another tantrum, over a shirt! Walk down the hall get the hairbows and elastics to do her hair. Come back, she is still laying on the floor crying over her shirt giving me the evil look how dare you mom. I picked up a mad little girl combed her hair, put it in pigtails and tied ribbons in her hair. And leave her crying in her room over a shirt! Now maybe I am a mean mom, but when you go through this so many times over what clothes to wear with a 3 year old I have come to the conclusion she can cry or figure out she is big enough to change to own shirt into something she would like to wear. So after a half hour of crying she finally came out of her room to watch Strawberry Shortcake which cheered her up! Still wearing the shirt I put on her! So after the crying was over with I told her we were taking a picture of her. I want to remember this one! After pictures, she then figured out she would much rather be a princess and play dressup, so off comes the clothes and into her princess outfit she goes!
